As the Australian Government prepares to introduce an under-16 social-media ban on December 10, many parents are wondering what it really means for our digital natives. Will it stop bullying or inappropriate content? Or do we need something deeper a culture of kindness that begins long before children go online?

Robyn Simpson believes kindness is not a soft skill it’s a superpower.

Robyn is the Founder of Choose the Tude and The Kind Community Project, a global movement dedicated to educating and encouraging kindness as part of every interaction in schools, workplaces, and communities.

Her certified programs help people take charge of their mindset, mental strength, and growth, teaching the science of kindness as a practical skill that builds connection and resilience.

She shares how a single act of disrespect in her early career sparked a wave of change. Teaching individuals, leaders, and communities how attitude and kindness can rewire our brains, transform cultures, and protect the next generation from harm.

Prepare for a conversation about compassion, neuroscience, and the contagious power of choosing kindness to share with others.

“This conversation is so important – we are at an inflection point, and what we do matters.” Tim

Men’s mental health is in crisis and it’s time we started talking about it differently.

Tim Hewson, Founder of Mongrels Men and Manbassador for Men’s Mental Health shares his very personal story of how a corporate career and traditional gender role perceptions, led to anxiety and depression – and ultimately the end of his marriage.

Recent global research, spanning 75 studies30 countries, and over 106 million men, has revealed the true impact of relationship breakdown on men’s metal health:

  • Divorced men are nearly three times more likely to die by suicide than married men.
  • Separated men under 34 are eight times more likely to die by suicide.
  • And among young Australian men, relationship breakdown has overtaken mood disorders as the most common trigger.

Ninety-six percent of studies also linked traditional masculine norms like emotional suppression to increased suicide risk.

It’s clear that the old narrative of “suck it up” has failed. What we need now is a culture that encourages men to speak up, to be vulnerable, and to support one another through honest, meaningful conversations. After nearly three decades in corporate leadership, Tim turned his experience toward creating brave spaces, places where men can connect, talk, and heal without judgment.

This episode explores why vulnerability is strength, why connection saves lives, and how redefining masculinity can transform families, workplaces, and communities.

“The world’s fractured, it’s tense and I feel the anxiety.” TP

When we think about what drives human behaviour, Abraham Maslow’s hierarchy of needs reminds us that everything begins with the basics, food, water, and safety.
Only when those are met can we move toward love, belonging, self-esteem, and ultimately, self-actualisation.

Yet across the world today, those foundational needs are increasingly under threat.
Communities are anxious. Societies are divided, and as parents, our deepest fear isn’t for ourselves, it’s for the future of our children, and theirs.

This week I sit down with Terry Paule, Founder & CEO of Botanical Water Technologies, whose mission is to grow water for communities in need.

From his role as an Aquapreneur at the World Economic Forum to his legacy as a father and grandfather, Terry is driven by compassion, community, and the belief that security begins with the basics.

Terry’s work turns wasted water into safe, drinkable sources giving children the chance to learn, grow, and dream instead of walking kilometres every day to fetch water. We talk about community, compassion, and why our sense of safety and security must extend beyond borders.

How do we prepare children to thrive in a world dominated by digital media?

Returning to the podcast this week is Kari Sutton, Author of Raising a Mentally Fit Generation, speaker, and internationally recognised Early Childhood Consultant.

With over 30 years of experience in education, much of it focused on early childhood and diverse needs, Kari has dedicated her career to improving the mental health and wellbeing of children.

She’s currently completing a PhD, writing her thesis Parents, Children and Online Safety: Building Digital Resilience. It’s a subject Kari is deeply passionate about, after witnessing first-hand the negative impacts of digital media on young people over the past 15 years.

While she acknowledges the value of technology, Kari believes we must equip children with the tools, skills, and strategies they need to navigate the digital landscape, from their earliest years right through adolescence.

You’ll hear why the answer isn’t to remove technology, but to give children the tools, skills, and strategies to navigate it with confidence. Kari’s experience will help you guide the next generation safely through an ever-changing, often dangerous online world.

Gaming prevalence among young children in Australia, is growing with high usage rates, particularly for video games where 93% of 5-14-year-olds play regularly and nearly half of 8–17-year-olds play online multiplayer games.

Concerns around addiction, in-game bullying, predators, and excessive screen time exist, however there are benefits for our digital generations if we ensure protections and oversee game choices.

This week, I’m joined by Brett Azzopardi, Co-founder and Managing Director of ShapeIT. Brett’s love of technology started with an old IBM 486 — retro by today’s gaming standards. That early curiosity with computers grew into a telecommunications career and ultimately the creation of his own IT solutions company.

Brett has seen technology develop from every angle — its power to transform, its risks, and its impact on our social lives. He believes the key isn’t just using tech — it’s teaching children to think critically and responsibly as AI becomes part of their world.

Brett’s lived experience showcases the benefits of understanding IT and managing digital risks, we discuss the changing social dynamics, and why intergenerational conversations about technology are crucial.
